Jacqueline Stopped at Mumbai Airport After ED’s Notice

Immigration authorities Mumbai airport on Sunday stopped Jacqueline Fernandez while she was on her way to Dubai for a show after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had issued a look out circular (LoC) against the Bollywood actress, sources said.

The LoC was issued in an alleged money laundering case against conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. In its chargesheet, the agency claimed Fernandez received gifts worth Rs.10 crores from Chandrasekhar, including a horse worth Rs.52 lakhs and a Persian cat worth Rs.9 lakhs.

The sources added the actor was allowed to leave the airport.  “She has been informed that she has to appear for questioning before ED in Delhi. Fresh summons against her will be issued soon,” said a senior official.

Besides Fernandez, the agency had also questioned actress Nora Fatehi in this case.

Fernandez wasn’t immediately available for comment.

The ED is probing Chandrasekhar and others in a Rs.200-crore money laundering case. They allegedly extorted Rs.200 crores from a businessman’s wife while the businessman was lodged in Tihar jail.

Fernandez and Chandrasekhar had allegedly met four times in Chennai between April and June this year when Chandrasekhar was out on bail.

According to ED, Chandrasekhar had even arranged a private jet for her for these meetings. S-ET
