Shark Tank India SI Logs 40% Deal Close Rate; 17 crore Deployed

Over a year after Shark Tank India Seasona 1 aired on television, the seven so-called sharks have completed just over 40% of the investments –both in terms of numbers and value– they had committed to the startups that participated in the show, according to an analysis.

These seven investors, who were the judges at the programme, completed 27 of the 65 soft funding commitments they had made, shows the analysis by Private Circle Research. In value terms, this was ₹17 crore out of the funding commitments totaling ₹40crore. The findings of Private Circle, a market intelligence firm, is based on the filings made by these startups with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, up- dated till July 12. The analysis does not include debt.

The Season 1 investors were BharatPe founder Ashneer Grover, Lenskart founder Peyush Bansal, founder Anupam Mittal, BoAtfounder Aman Gupta, Mamaearth founder Ghazal Alagh, Sugar Cosmetics founder Vineeta Singh and Emcure Pharmaceuticals CEO Namita Thapar. S:ET Image Source-google
