Stake holders -Infosys Team Meet on June 22 to Fix I-T Portal

With new income tax portal continuing to face glitches, the finance ministry has called senior officials from the technology backbone provider Infosys for an interactive meeting, scheduled for June 22, will be attended by stake holders including Institute of chartered accountants of India (ICAI), auditors, consultants and taxpayers an official statement said Tuesday.

“Representatives form Infosys team will be present to answer queries, clarify issues, and receive inputs on the working of the portal, to remove glitches and sort out issues faced by the taxpayers,” The ministry said. Written representation on the problems/ difficulties faced in the portal have also been invited from the stake holders.

The new portal, launched on June 7, has been fraught with several technical glitches/ issues, leading to taxpayer inconvenience.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had called on the technology proved to resolve “grievances and glitches” with the new income tax electronic filing portal after users complained they were unable to access the site.

Users complained that they were unable to log in the new income tax portal after several attempts, couldn’t download the 26A from, and also faced problems with registering digital signature certificates.
